Inshore Fishing.

Report Date: July 7, 2006

Hello everybody and sorry for the delay in getting the post up. I'm in the midst of tearing my house apart and hadn't had too much time to get to the computer, but here it goes...
On the Tarpon front, i've been pretty much taking a back seat to all the other "Tarpon Fisherman" in the area and letting them figure out when the bite will turn on. Everything seems to be in place, bait, water temp, Time of year, etc but the fish just aren't biting too well. So as of late i've been chasing some reds and trout and doing pretty well for the most part.

We have had some pretty good days on the slot fish and we are also getting into some bigger reds as well. For the most part the trout have been small but we've also cought some really big ones on the flats but can't keep them on long enough to get the camera out. We also tangled with about a 16-17lb triple tail that miraculously got away at the side of the boat?.....You know who you are.....

So hopefully the Tarpon bite is going to pick up in the next few days and we'll start doing some more tarpon fishing. The reds will continue to bite inshore as will the trout.
