summer action

Report Date: June 21, 2008

Well yesterday marked the official start to summer but it seems like it got here a couple of weeks early if you ask me. Several consecutive days of 100+ degree days have really moved in a bunch of new fish. Here is your two dollar wrap up thus far.

This years Cobia season left a sour taste on the old buds with the low numbers of fish and the astronomical amount of fisherman. Catch rates for me were about 50% of what they were last year but the sizes were better. Who knows, there's always next year.

On the inshore front, the Reds and Trout have been great. This time of year I mostly fish live bait and it's definately working so far. The spanish and blues out on the range markers have been thick as thieves and the nearshore wrecks are loaded up pretty good as well.

The poons are here, the baits here, and the hot weather is here.......
